What happens next

A short, transparent process

  1. Step 1 · Within five working days

    Dossier and acknowledgement

    We send the full grant application, the investor FAQ and the detailed budget, and propose times for an introductory conversation.

  2. Step 2 · Introductory call

    Fit and priorities

    A 30-minute exchange on where your foundation's priorities intersect with the programme, and what you would need to see to progress internally.

  3. Step 3 · Tailored materials

    Whatever your committee requires

    Deep dives on methodology, governance, budget or the NGO panel; conversations with the relevant workstream leads; and any supplementary documentation your process requires.

  4. Step 4 · Consortium formation

    Co-funding commitment

    The 48-week programme clock starts on funding confirmation. Founding co-funders engage on the theory of change and governance concept during Phase 1.

Good to know

What we are asking for

CHF 700,000 in total, across three to five co-funders. We are not seeking a single anchor funder — a consortium is deliberate, and reinforces the independence of the index from any one source of support.

What co-funding does not buy

No role in questionnaire design, scoring or publication decisions. Methodology is controlled by an independent academic consortium and governed by an independent scientific committee. This is a contribution to a public-good instrument, on the model of IPBES or the IUCN Red List.

Confidentiality

The Phase I dossier is a confidential document. We are glad to work within whatever confidentiality or due-diligence arrangements your institution requires.
